[Varaiety] "Explaining Japanese traditions to foreigners" (Kazuhiro WATANABE)

Can you explain to foreigners Japanese traditional noodles such as the one this picture above shows ?

Udon and Soba are traditional and popular food in Japan. We, Kyoto NHK ESS members, always head for the noodle shop 'Manzo', after we have finished working on the weekly exercises at the temple.

If you invite foreigners to eat out together and they ask you questions like,
"What is this food ?", "What is this made from ?",
can you properly answer their questions ?

This week, we are going to do the role play practice. Some of you play the roles of the hosts (Japanese people who are asked questions by foreigners ), the others act as the guests (foreigners who ask the questions to the hosts).

We have more than one hour for this practice.
During the first 30 minutes, let's think of questions and answers regarding traditional Japanese foods individually. After that, for the remaining hours, enjoy the English conversation by playing the roles !

Come join us at the temple this week and learn how to explain Japanese traditions to foreign people.
