"Let's sing Japanese songs in English."

(by Ms KATO)

Music has no boundaries. It's one of the best cross-cultural communication tools. When we sing together, we feel close to each other. We sing when we're happy, and we get happy when we sing. More the singers, happier we get! So why don't we sing Japanese songs in English! I've prepared a couple of Japanese songs translated to English. (Words will be distributed at the practice.)

You will have 1 hour to translate a Japanese song to English. Please pick a song that most people have heard of. Start by translating one phrase and move onto the next phrase, and soon they'll add up to one song. If you finish one song, you can start working on another one.

Or you can practice your performance which is scheduled for the last 30 minutes. Each group is given 5 minutes to perform the song in English. Everybody in the group needs to participate. Participation includes dancing, clapping beats, voice percussion, etc. with the singing. If the translation is not comlete, you can sing just the phrases you have translated.

    Please enjoy!
