＜TOPIC＞
ようやく朝晩はしのぎやすくなり、日中との温度差に体調を崩してしまいそうです。
9月2日はお寺は休ませていただき、東京まで行ってきました。私は田舎者なので、東京で学会となるとワクワクしてしまい、ガイドブックを片手に色んなところを一人で行っています。
一人で行くのは気楽なのですが、やはり楽しいときにその感想を言い合える相手が欲しいですよね。今回は幸い、上司と2人で行くことになったので、出発前から念入りに計画を練っていました。
上司は男性なのですが、「ぜひ秋葉原のメイド喫茶に行きたい！」と言うので、私は全く興味がなかったのですが、同伴しました。感想は「こんなもんか～」という程度もので、入るときに「お帰りなさいませ、ご主人様、お嬢様」と言われたことだけしか特に記憶に残っていません。料理は高いし、それほどおいしいものでもないし。手をおしぼりで拭いてくれるとか、何か特別なことを期待していた方がまちがいなのかもしれませんが。
そのあとはミーハーなのですが、六本木ヒルズに行って来ました。こちらは期待どおり、都会の風を感じて気分よく滋賀県に帰りました。
旅行は行く前は楽しみで、どんな仕事もそれを励みに頑張ることができるのですが、帰ってしばらくは現実になかなか戻れず、なぜか悲しい気分になるので、複雑な気分です。

今回は私的な話で終わってしまい、申し訳ありません。

Title: Why we are not good at English?

Description:
Why we Japanese are not good at English even though we've learned it for a long time? We are learning English now. I often think something below while learning languages. I want to know how our ESS members think about that. I am looking forward to hearing your opinion about these items. Let's discuss these items which are related to English learning.

1) Why Japanese are not good at English compared with people in other countries?
And, please tell us the reason why do you think so?
2) What is the most effective way to improve your English? And, why?
3) Which language do you want to learn after English? and why do you think so?

Please tell us the result of your group discussion after the team discussion is over.

What do you think about househusbands?
Hove you ever seen a woman driving a bus?
Do you think only wives should do housework and take care of her/husband's parents?

Subconsciously, we have a gender bias.
How gender-neutral should we be?
It's kind of difficult problem, however, please don't be serious.
Let's enjoy to think about gender bias by talking and playing game.

Are you interested in English grammar? In this practice, we
make 5 or 6 teams and answer the questions I will provide
you with, talking about English grammar and usage as we
do so. I hope you enjoy the game.

Description:
As you may know, "troubleshooter" is one of the columns of newspaper "Daily Yomiuri". In that columns, the writers have some kind of troubles and ask for the advice. Ｉ　will prepare several short columns and would like you to discuss what you think of their "troubles" and give them good advice.
