4. Share your universal points to the whole participants

Dear ESS members

This is the announcement of the practice on 19th.

The genre is "talk to explain"

The theme is “Describing very Japanese thing”

1. Make 5 groups and talk about the words written in Japanese which are unique to Japan or common in Japan.
If you feel the task is too much, you can choose five of them.

2. Then write them down to describe or explain those words on the back of the paper.
You need not explain them in detail but they should be enough to make foreigners get the images.

3. After completed, one member of the group presents them in front of other groups.

Each group will be given different themes, and sometime later I will distribute model explanations except to the group which has to present them, so that you will see the group in charge could do a good job.

Hello, everyone.
This is the chairperson of practice on Oct. 3, Yuko Tanihara.

Here is the contents of my practice.

Genre: Vocabulary quizzes with discussion

Title: Let's talk about beauty of nature and taste of Japan in English!

At first, please make some groups to have 4-6 members in each group.

Warming up part;
I picked up some words of seasonal ingredients.
At first, please try to answer these questions by yourself.
Then, shall we share these answers with your group members?

Main part;
This game is guessing the English word of explanation of seasonal events/tastes.
One of your group members reads out first question.
Other members answer the word of first question.
Then, next person reads out second question and others answer the question.
Please repeat this work by rotation.

This practice will be good chance to know how to explain Japanese culture, especially foods.
