[Discussion] "Tree Diagram Method" (Imagawa)

Letfs use the TREE DIAGRAM METHOD!
The method, gKeitohzu-hoh in Japanese, is one of the useful tools for figuring out the best solution to accomplish our goal. As many engineers use this method, not a few of you might be familiar with it.
In the diagram, a solution for the goal branches into more specific ones.

The procedure is as follows:

1) Choosing your goal
I will offer several goals, for example,
"Making the best use of your time at the Kyoto NHK ESS",
"Increasing the number of members of the Kyoto NHK ESS",
"Increasing the number of foreign travelers in Japan", etc.
You can also offer your goals based on your actual problems!
2) Brainstorm
Put as many ideas for solutions as possible on pieces of paper (Post-it).
3) Organization of your Ideas
Classify and organize the pieces of paper as shown in the figure.
Consequently you will find many blanks to fill in the diagram.
4) Completion of the Diagram
Fill the blanks and brainstorm more ideas in order to cover all possible solutions.
5) Grade
Grade all of the solutions at the far right column,on at least two aspects (e.g. possibility, cost).
Eventually, you can figure out the best solutions to accomplish the goal.

I hope you enjoy my first practice!
